Default 2008 F 150 leaking oil

Hello,

I have a 2008 F 150 4.6L that is leaking oil where the transmission and engine meet. I had to tighten down on the oil pan yesterday. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem or know how to fix it.

Any information would greatly be appreciated

Could be the rear main seal if it's oil, or the transmission front seal if it's transmission fluid, either way, the motor and transmission have to be separated to see what it is.

I drained the oil. The liquid that is leaking is different color from the motor oil

It doesn't look so bad from what the picture shows but you have already wiped it off. Let it build up some again and then get another look to see what color it is.
If it ends up being just a drop or so a day, maybe just live with it but put a catch pan under that area..
When you tighten those oil pan bolts, don't over torque them or you will cause more leakage.

That's not much of a leak. If it's red/brown oil it's the front tranny seal behind the torque converter. Check your tranny dipstick to see if the fluid is bright red or brownish. If it's brown you need a trans service anyway.

I managed to find the leak. The leak is coming from my oil pan. One of the corners is bent apparently
