Codes on a '93
I followed the sticky on checking OBDI codes on my '93 with the I6, and if I'm doing it correctly I didn't get any two digit codes, but got 522 TWICE and 179 twice. Does that make any sense?? My Chilton manual doesn't even list 522, and for 179 it says "Fuel at lean adaptive limit at part throttle, system rich". Any ideas?

Somewhere around 92 they started using 3-digit codes. My 91 gives both.
Are you sure you're following the flashes right? Those are weird numbers for sure. If it displayed them twice, those are memory codes that may have been temporary or intermittent. There should have been a 11 or 111 first, then a 1, then the codes displayed.
You might run 'em again and double check yourself. It takes a few tries to get the timing figured out (did for me at least...)
Is the truck running poorly? If not, you could also try to clear them by disconnecting the negative battery cable for a few minutes. After driving a day or two, check again to see if they come back.

The truck is running pretty well, it just starts to stumble off idle once it gets warmed up, primarily noticeable in 1st and 2nd gear. That's why I wanted to check, plus I've only had the truck for a few months. I've replaced the fuel filter, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, and thermostat. I also replaced the battery terminals so the battery has been disconnected since all those things....but I could try again. Maybe I could be getting the timing wrong, but they're coming just like it says in the sticky. flashes, stops for 2 seconds, flashes again, etc....4 seconds in between codes.

Aren't the codes displayed twice, thought this was normal. You know, codes start and run the cycle and then repeat themselves, get the two second pause, a one for separator, two second pause and then memory.

I think they all have a mind of their own. I thought it scrolled through both sets twice too, but my truck only runs current codes once, then memory codes twice. It also gives both 2 and 3 digit codes. The 3 digits codes flash about twice as fast as the 2 digit codes.
