Over oiling a reusable filter is a rookie mistake, and we were all rookies at one time. I put 100K on a K&N in an 85 Camaro IROC and did the same thing. Cleaned the MAF and it ran fine. Never over applied the oil again, never had the problem again. I had 120K on the K&N on my 2006 Nissan Sentra SE, since I never over oiled it, I never had a problem with it.


You can save a lot of money using a reusable filter.... If you learn how to use it right..... And yeah, I am replying to a month old thread too......
