changing fuel filter

Default changing fuel filter

I am trying to change this out on the truck and i can not seem to get it off. I know they dont just pop right off all the time but i was wondering if there was any other little tricks or tips anyone else might have to help me along on this?

Go get a fuel filter changing tool from your local auto parts store. Makes it very easy. Should cost less than $10. Good luck.

The back connecter comes off by pushing a button like thing. The front one requires the tool. Remove the metal clip and slide the tool under the connection. You will probably have to put a lot of force in to it.

It will be impossible without the tool. Go to NAPA, they have a very nice tool that wont break on you. (the carquest one broke on me)

Spray a little WD40 on the fitting, then use the tool to get it off. Makes it a lot easier.
