Can't communicate with pcm 1998 Ford F-150
Aloha,
I ran into a problem a few weeks ago with my 1998 Ford F1 50 6 cylinder 4.2 L engine and was wondering if I could get some help?
My truck suddenly wouldn't start it had no fuel pressure and no spark so I started checking relays and fuses and everything seemed fine I ended up replacing the fuel pump and replacing the computer but now for some reason my ODB2 reader won't connect to the computer? I checked continuity and a lot of fuses to the computer and everything seemed fine anyone have any ideas is there a fuse or specific fuse or specific relay I might be missing?

Just saw your other post. If you aren't getting power to the pump, it's not going to work regardless of how many times you replace it. If you know your way around a voltmeter, I can help you. If not, find a friend who is or you'll have to take it to a shop. Are you military by chance?

Have you tried the scan tool on another car? If you have and it works, check for power at Fuse 12 in the first diagram. If you're getting power there, check for continuity between there and the hookup under the dash.

found it, recently had FORD here In Hawaii work on it, they took off the wire harness that connected to the fuse and breakers. they didn't put it back on and the wires fell again the exhaust manifold causing a short.
now FORD is a totally stealership, I had NO idea that they wont help and onlt want to change me thousands to fix. this is my first Ford but I will never take a FORD to the dealership for help. They truly are brutal, especially Windward Ford over here, Never again
