Can i drive until my engine gives out?
Took my truck in to the dealership into the dealership. They said I need new cam phaser the cylinder heads are worn and the block is scorched. They said I will need a new engine. The truck still runs and it's not my daily driver, I currently don't have the money for a new engine is there any harm in me driving around until it goes? I'm trying to put it off as long as possible

I don't think it's ready to go yet, no smoke, no check engine light, just a shudder and loud pinging at low rpms. The dealer broke down the engine, but I think they are jumping the gun a bit. So driving on it a few more months until I can save up won't hurt anything as long as I plan on replacing it anyways?

Know mostly nothing about your ride. I would ask another dealers opinion.

Well, sounds like you've got at least a little while left.
If you know your engine has issues that could cause it to suddenly give out, obviously you're running the risk that you'll end up on the side of the road or holding up traffic, depending where you are, and waiting for a ride and a tow.
but no, it's not gonna be a safety risk or cause any problems worth talking about when you're gonna be doing a job like replacing the engine anyway. I'd run it into the ground. It's not like a bad wheel bearing, where the wheel will detach from the truck if it gives out, for example. You'll "just" lose your power and be left stranded.
I just wouldn't make any long highway trips in the truck, especially out of phone range, pull any fast maneuvers in traffic like a left turn with oncoming traffic close or what have you, if you can help it.
