Brake lock up

Default Brake lock up

My 2000 f150 rear brakes are locking up and I need to fix it asap. Im wondering if I can fix it and if so how? Thanks

My first thought is you might have an axle seal leaking and you're getting gear oil in the brakes. I know with drum brakes this will make them grabby and prone to locking up with only moderate pedal pressure. Not sure how it affects discs but I would have to assume it would make them grab also.

Pull the rotors and see if the emergency brake shoes inside the rotor hub have failed. Also you may have a stuck caliper.
