Default brake lights dont work after new booster installed

Replaced master cylinder and brake booster. After reconnecting the brake light switch the brake lights don't work. They did before. Bought a new switch and the same problem. Jumpered the harness and they work. Thought I put it all back the same bushings and all. Still scratching my head caint figure. Has anyone run into this before? its a 1997 f150

What are you working on, year/make/model. Folx knowing those things have a better chance of offering you help.

I'll stab a guess the brake light switch but I don't know if a 32 Packard or the space shuttle comes equipped.

I've run across after market switches not being machined properly and not working new. Grab one from your local dealer, while your at it, those two wires going to the switch, pull on each one see if one breaks easily, they had a problem of breaking inside the insulation and making intermittent contact.
