Question Blowing #29 fuse

I have a '97 f150 that keeps blowing the #29 fuse. Seems to be every time i put it in gear but not always leaving me with no working dash at all (none of the gauges). I replaced the speed sensor, that didn't help, any thoughts?

Just wondering if you got you problem fixed and if so what was causing that fuse to blow. I have a 2001 Lariat that is blowing that fuse. My gauges all work but the autolamps do not nor the autolock function.

Thanks.

Ive seen bad brake switches throw guys in diagnosis loops.. seen bad brake switches blow fuses, cause battery drain and obvious shift out of park issue...

You have a short to ground somewhere.

I did get the problem fixed. It was being caused by a short in the shift lever, which is not a very common spot. A couple common spots are shorts behind the gauges or a short coming from the trailer hitch wiring plug.
