Always check your oil after a dealer visit...
I am usually a DIY when it comes to simple things like oil changes, tire rotations, etc... However this last time i was short on time and figured dropping it off at the dealer during lunch was the best use of my time.
I picked it up and was in a hurry, one thing led to another and blah blah blah i never checked the truck over after the service was performed. Stupid me.
Fast forward a few weeks and I noticed I'm not getting the MPG i used to, truck seems bogged down some and just making a "strange" sound. Like the BOV or diverter valve (whichever this truck has) was "submerged" in fluid. Thought I had the infamous inter-cooler problem people were having with the ecoboost for a while.
So I start checking random things like the hose clamps, for any cracks, etc and i figure it has been a few weeks since i checked my oil. Pulled out my dipstick, wiped it off, and repulled it and seen this:
Filled up to just over the 6 in the lettering above the brand stamp.
I checked it like 5 times in disbelief...
I bought a new filter and some oil and changed it in my driveway. Seems to run much better now and have already seen an improvement in mileage. Was getting around 13mpg before and i am back up to 15+ for city driving.
Anything else i can check that oil possibly has gotten into that it shouldn't have? I also notice during the oil change that the oil reeked of gasoline.
Also, yes i did contact the dealer but they "didn't have time today to look at it" and to bring it back Monday. The only times they had available were times that i would have to use vacation hours. I would rather spend 60 bucks in oil, filter, drain-pan etc then blow 8 hours of vacation. Told the service guy f-you and hung up i was so pissed. Never going back there and will probably cancel my 2014 mustang order from them too. They mess up and they cant spend 15 minutes on an oil change on a Saturday? I call BS.

Man, that really stinks. I would certainly push the issue. At my local dealership, they said the tech not checking the stick after an oil change was a fireable offence.
But who knows. It will be your word against there's. Sorry..

The thing that worries me is how strong the gas smell was when changing the oil. Never smelled it that strong before.

From reading on this forum, folks report that Direct Injection engines have more fuel ending up in the oil than other types of fuel injection systems. One guy had an oil analysis done by Blackstone Labs I believe and they reported that fuel dilution was in the OK range...<2% if I remember correctly.

I would be curious to see also, but I know I don't idle much. I think the longest i have let it sit idle was about 20 minutes in traffic on 635. All together probably less than an hour of intentional idling since the last change from the dealer.
