Default best place/price for Ford extended warranty?

Hello -

I am getting ready to join the F-150 family in the next couple days......very exciting!

I am considering purchasing an extended warrranty for my 2011 F-150 STX....can anyone make a recommendation on what price is competitive so I can compare with what my dealer is offering me? I'd also like to identify other sources for this (internet, etc).

thanks in advance for the assistance!

I got mine here: http://www.fordextendedwarranty.com/

They had the best price for the coverage i wanted.

Be sure to shop around, the prices for the Ford ESP's can be different from dealer to dealer.

The major discounters that I know of are: Floodford, Troy ford in Ohio and Ziegler Ford in Michigan. No doubt there are others. Google 'em up. I think the so-called basic warranty (which looks reasonably comprehensive) with a $50 deductible is a really fair deal for what you get. Cost me only $715 for 7 years and 100K of coverage. Pricing changes all the time, so check.

Default Try the ESP discounters

Guess my original post didn't go through:

Try the ESP discounters: I know of Floodford, Troy Ford, and Ziegler. There are others I assume. You can Google them up.

I thought the $50 deductible Basic coverage, 7 yrs, 100K for about $730 from Troy was a good value. You undertake the risk of an electric window repair and a nav repair, yourself, but the big stuff is covered.

Don't even consider a third party warranty.

I'm trying to find a comparison between the base, extra, and premium coverage packages. I'm having trouble getting my head around what's covered and what is not covered under each package. Any help?

One of the sites--I think maybe Troy or Flood --had a link to a side by side comparison. My general recollection is that the 'Base' coverage covered the stuff that would keep you from getting to work, with the exception of the ABS sensor for some reason. The two fancier packages covered things like the power windows and the really high tech stuff.

I didn't even have most of the stuff covered by the fancy-dan coverage so it was an easy choice for me. I noticed that the price increase was steep for each of the fancy packages. It seemed to me like you were pretty much prepaying for that broken power window or nav system. I think I would have stuck to the Base plan even if I had had all that stuff.
