Default Battery died today, 35 months

SO I had been looking at making a preemptive strike and replace the battery, but did not do it and I paid the price.

More importantly, I broke down in a Shell station and could not find one person who had or would jump me off. SO I had to call the wife at work.

QUESTION: What backup are you carrying or have access to? Jumper cables or some sort of battery?

Jumper cables in every vehicle.

Mine is 2 months shy of 3 years, but I have a battery tender.

Does a battery tender prolong a batteries life?

Batteries don't last as long in FL, when you live close to the water. Especially with the way I drive it for work. I will drive 30-40 miles, and then make 10 or so short trips, some less than a mile, but 3 or so miles at the longest. That's hard on a battery. I replace mine every 2 years.
