Default Battery charger problem

I have a
Schumacher SE-1052 50/10/2 Amp Manual Starter/Charger Schumacher SE-1052 50/10/2 Amp Manual Starter/Charger
and was attempting to charge a dead battery on a forklift when I made the stoopid mistake of attaching + to - and - to +. The little battery charger made a LOUD buzz and vibrated like never before - I quickly disconnected and connected the right way, same loud noise/vibration for a few seconds before it went dead...completely dead. I though it blew the breaker/GFCI but no, power to the unit and no response.

I was wondering what I could have damaged by doing this and if I could replace it...I opened it up and it looked pretty simple but I have no clue what I'm looking at.

Hate to replace the charger even if it is only $45 but it's not that old and hoped it would last alot longer...probably would have if it was anyone but that owned it lol
