bad coils = burned piston rings??
Recently I have had my 4.6 engine blow on me. It started running like **** when I was in a remote area. When I brought it to a shop to have it looked at I was told my cam shaft was worn out causing my timing to go out of wack. I belive the mech because he removed the belt that was squeaky and the squeak continued from the right side. He then took off the head to take a look and saw it was finished.
I thought I was lucky because I still have a valid extended warranty. When I brought it into their shop, the mech told me the prob was that my piston rings were burned out due to two bad coil packs, and they are not going to honor the warranty because I failed to keep up with the maintenance. But I had put in new spark plugs and replaced 3 lazy coil packs earlier this year.
Does this sound fishy to anyone?
