Default Any Help Would Be Appreciated

I Have a 2002 F-150 5.4 ltr. I seem to be hearing what appears to be an intermittent grinding/banging noise from the undercarriage on the passenger side while driving. I have removed the rear wheel and found nothing. I removed the front wheel, and when I spin the rotor there is a slight grinding sound coming from what seems to a gear box of some kind between the two front wheel spindles. Could this be the problem? I cannot find anything else that could make this noise. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You
