Default AC won't recirculate anymore

When I press the recirculate button it lights up but it no longer changes the blower configuration. It used to get noticeably louder and the fan would blow harder. I live in Louisiana so it doesn't cool near enough pulling outside air and I can no longer keep the bad smells out of the truck. The max AC button doesn't help any either. Any ideas?

Common problem. You need to replace the Blower Speed Control Module Resistor.

He's talking about recirc. vs outside air intake modes. I don't think the resistor module effects that. I'm thinking a stuck door, or door control motor.

I have a 2010 fx4, with a similar problem. On mine I can't control the speed of the a/c. Once it's on it'll rest on whatever speed it wants. Any suggestions?

Correct, I can adjust speeds and whether it comes out of the defroster, dash or floor but it will no longer recirculate inside air.

Anyone? I'd like to try to fix it myself. May be just coincidence but it quit working right after I took it to the dealer for a brake job.

It can be 1 of 3 things, a bad wire, a bad actuator, or a bad HVAC module. I would bet it's a bad actuator.

On mine the shaft broke off the door where it attaches to the electronic controller. I took the controller off and it won't stop at the ends of its travel. Dealer wants $1900 to replace door assembly as the whole dash must come out. Kinda pissed me off.
