Default '97 F-150, 4.6L running rough at idle?

I drive a '97 F-150 with a 4.6 liter, auto 4X4.

The engine runs rough when in drive at stop lights. Usually tends to act like it wants to stall, but after 30-40 seconds, it clears up and begins to run rough again after 15-20 seconds. It acts like the idle air control valve needs some help? Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I'd say so. You can try taking it off and cleaning it to see if it helps. Usually doesn't cause the actual solenoid is what goes bad most of the time. A test it to whack it with a wrench while it's idling crappy to see if it clears up when you hit it.

Default rough idle

Clean the Throttle body by removing it carefully and take all of the sensors off. IAC TPS and clean it with throttle body spray. Get it nice and clean reinstall it then disconnect the battery for a minute or so then reconnect and it should be all good.

Run a couple cans of Isopropyl alcohol / the red gas line antifreeze thru the tank to remove ice moisture. See if it helps it a lot. Ice starts this way, killing the motor and cutting off the power.
