I have a 2005 F150 4x4 with 69k, my most recent problem is my 4x4, I used it about a month ago and it worked fine, then out of no wear it stopped working!! Now when you turn the switch nothing happens, the light does not turn on, there is no clunck from the t-case nothing!! It's not popping any codes nothing, from what I've read it sounds like the IWE but I'm not sure. I have owned ford trucks my entire life and have been a diehard Ford fan. This truck however is changing that! I've had so many problems with this truck, my t-case broke at 45k my ball joints went out, my steering rack broke my 4x4 actuators went out, my engine has a strange knock that I guess is common among 3v 5.4's and my tranny slips from 1 to 2nd. I've owned this thing since new and babied it and this is how it repays me. I know a lot of people that are very dissatisfied with the 04-08 F150, Ford needs to recall this entire truck!

Been a Ford guy a long time too ... this is the 6th one I owned. Mine is a 2012 and recently I had to replace the actuator motor because my 4x4 would not engage.... a year ago I had to replace the vacuum line and iwe solenoid. I sure wish I had manual locking hubs. Maybe yours is the switch itself if there is no message showing.
