Default 4wd issues

I have a 2005 f150. The 4wd hi/low light comes on but the back tires just spin. I replaced the transfer case motor and checked the vacuume lines and are working. The only noise I get is when I put it in 4wd hi there a slight grind.but other than that no other noise. Not sure what else to do

I hear with this model there is an IWE solenoid to check due to water shorting it out but seems you are shifting into 4wd. I have a 02 fx4 and have a grinding noise coming from either the transfer case or transmission. I think it may be the t-case so I'm looking for answers as well. good luck.

Vacuum needs to vent in order to engage your IWE's which will put you in 4WD
