Default 2016 Brake Rotors warping way too soon?

2016 Lariat Screw, 2.7. Have towed my TT 5K out of 18K miles and now I'm getting a bump in my front rotors. Had a 2011...same set up and never wore out the brakes in 90K with comparable driving/towing. New compound in the rotors?? Or did Ford think that because the truck was lighter, the brake rotors could be of poorer quality. Am I the exception? Considering aftermarket H/P rotors now instead of letting Ford turn these and have to revisit in another 18kmiles Cliff

If you do just go with new rotors spend the extra cash on a set of cryo treated rotors. You won't warp them.

I put a set of these on my 2012. Love them.

Just so you know....Rotors almost never warp... Let me guess...you feel a pulsation when braking? 9 times out of 10 its not the rotors fault..its your break pad. The pads were heated past their thermal range and brake material "fused" to the rotor unevenly. Like towing onthe highway...taking a long steep exit and braking the entire time...then at the bottom sitting at a light...that material is actually fusing in one spot while you sit...and then when you brake the next time you will feel that extra material on the rotor and it pulsates through your steering wheel. Invest in higher temp brake pads if you are doing towing...rotors...there are many out there that will do the job

Timeless: Thanks for sharing. Surprisingly, I knew that and "try" to remember to get off the brakes at the intersection. Was easier with my 2011. The ***** pain with the 16 is the auto shut off that restarts when you lift pressure off the brake once stopped...
Where in NJ...wife from Fairfield and I grew up in Toms River.

See...thats most likely why you see a difference in brake wear on your new truck...you actually were able to limit that pad material fusing in the 2011

Anytime! oh..and i think i ended up getting Hawk heavy duty pads...have to double check..and they squeak horribly! and only at slow speeds like 5-10mph...so annoying in traffic!

I'm in Ringwood...i know Fairfield very well...how are you liking the south? Wife and i were considering moving down south too...taxes are out of control over here

Thanks. Taxes....what taxes? Brother and sister in law moved out of West Orange to Newton in order to REDUCE their taxes by $10K!!! Yikes. Live waterfront on a 15,000 acre lake, 2 acres, $900 a year (not a misprint).

I'm surprised it didn't do it on your previous truck either. I've had warped rotors on my 2010, 2013, and 2014. So far so good on the 2016.
