I have 44,000 miles and was just informed by the dealer that my evaporator has a leak and needs to be replaced. In total, it is going to cost $1975 on a 2 year old vehicle located in MN which the air conditioner is used about 3 months a year! Of course I am passed the bumper to bumper warranty. Any suggestions on what to do. I can't believe a two year old vehicle is having this severe of a problem on a feature that has been used for about 6 months total?

Try contacting your local Ford Zone Manager.This is not the dealer. They may help with covering it under an extended warranty. BTW Hot or cold A/C units should be run several times a month to keep the system lubricated and seals soft and pliable. Good luck.
