Yes of course, mechanic asked the same question. It was a cold reading on level ground

This TSB is not tied to the VIN#. You need to complain about the specific issues for the mechanics to be able to follow the TSB. Gasoline smell at startup and the gasoline smell in oil or they will not do anything.

akmedic is correct. It is a widespread issue, and their is no TSB that will fix it, only bandaid fixes.

Most service center will try to dismiss your complaint to begin with.

well i am new here but i am hopping that someone can help me. I have a 2012 f150 EB FX4 with 20k and i started hearing a knock and it just got louder. I took it to the dealership and they checked the oil and it was over full (good thing that I did all my oil changes with them.) well a week later the only thing I know is that they have been going back and forth with the tech line, I did find out that #4 cyl is scored up. they are still waiting for tech to decide what the next step is?

well I just received a call from the dealership, know they want them to pull the heads off. all this time and they still cant make up their mind on what to do. It seems to me that they are going to change it but what are they going to change- a short or long block. the only thing that bothers me is a week and a half now and we still know what to do. (FRUSTRATING)

Do oil analysis and keep documentation. This issue is NOT good for the bearings or any internal parts.

I suspect you may have a leaking HPDI pump (it is a plunger style and the seal can fail pumping gas directly into the crankcase).

Keep us posted.

Well they are pulling the motor out to see if they will order a short or long block. I wish i had a say in this, they said they have never taken an EB motor out let alone worked on it. not real happy with that?

well I was just told that the skirts on the bottom of a piston was shattered into pieces, and we are still waiting on tech support to say short or long block replacement? 2 weeks now and still waiting. I wish I had a say in this because I was told that this is the first time tearing one of these EB apart let alone putting one back together????
