2011 F150 XLT 5.0 V8 going into limp home mode
I just made an account to ask my question and explain my problem sorry if there is already a thread explaining what's going on. I just just traded in my truck last thursday in to get me a better truck and thats affordable to me. Well I ended up getting a 2011 F150 XLT 5.0 V8 4x4. It was certified pre owned with about 65,000 on it. I loved the truck and was impressed with it until yesterday. 3 seperate times yesterday while driving it went into limp mode. The mph went to zero and seemed to down shift with very little acceleration. The wrench transmission light came on then the service engine light. Only way I was able to clear the faults and get it going was to pull over, turn it off and let it sit. Once I did that for a few minutes it would go away and work. Im not sure how hot the transmission should be but I noticed everytime it did it it was over 200 degrees. I currently have the truck and the dealership waiting to get looked at. Has anyone seen this problem or know what it might be?

Hey I'm headed to the dealership tomorrow morning for a similar incident with the wrench showing up in dash. My 2011 EB 4x4 114000 miles. It has happen 4 times to me twice on the interstate! I pulled the code it showed as a pending fault (while pulled over in limp mode in town from leaving a stop sign) P2111 throttle actuator Control System stuck open!
