2010 5.4 making whining noise above 1000 RPM
Hi, my truck has been making a whining noise above 1000 RPM in park, neutral, and drive, which increases in loudness and pitch with increased RPMs. I've also been getting poor fuel mileage, an occasional shudder when I release the throttle, poor acceleration, and engine surging while coasting & braking. Does this sound like an issue with my torque converter?
Here is a video of the same whining noise I'm hearing:

The publinote of the video does note that in his case, it was TC noise.

Sounds to me like an idler pulley, or tensioner or a trans concern. If you have a long screw driver, while the truck is running, put the screw driver on the bolt that holds the pulley/idler pulley on, and put your ear to the handle, it will be a rough sound if the idler/pulley are bad. Be careful not to hit the fan blade......
