2008 F150 Issue
My 2008 5.4 F150 has 73,000 miles on it. Recently the car started to have trouble when coming to idle when stopping. The front of the truck shakes a bit and the engine sounds like it is struggling to stay going. The car has died a few time....but in both cases the issue is intermittent. The car runs great except for when it is at idle. If I put the car in neutral or park at idle and rev the engine, most times the issue will dissipate and the car will then idle correctly.
There are no fault codes or engine lights coming on.
Thoughts anyone?

It's possible it's a fuel pump issue. If the filter sock is clogged or theres a crack in the pick up tube, the motor will hesitate when the fuel sloshes in the tank. The other thing you can check is the wire harness in the engine compartment. Check to see if there are any loose wires drifting on to the exhaust manifolds. Finally a vacuum leak like at the PCV valve or the intake manifold will cause this problem causing the fuel to lean out at low RPMs and the motor to stumble. Check all your hoses. Good luck.

I would start with a good cleaning of the throttle body and MAF sensor and check the condition of your fuel pump driver module (FPDM) located above the spare tire normally corroded to the frame rail..
