Default 2007 Transmission Issue

I have a 2007 F150 with approx. 80K miles. I had the trans flushed back in June of 2014 and the truck has driven alright since. Recently, when returning from a trip the truck wasn't shifting into gear and the RPMs would rapidly rise with no acceleration. This morning I couldn't get the truck to get past 30 mph and again the RPM would rapidly rise.

My initial thought is related the transmission issue but would be curious as to other thoughts.

Also, being out of warranty would you suggest taking it a Ford dealership or simply find a reputable repair shop to troubleshoot the issue.

Thanks.

It sounds more like the torque converter is failing. I'd try and find a small tranny shop. The dealer could charge you a fortune. Good luck
