Default 2007 F150 4.6V8 - Rough Idle

My 2007 4.6V8 has a rough idle, very similar to what my much older F150 had a couple of years back. It was the IAC control, and was easy enough to purchase and change, and it fixed the problem. However, this '07 4.6 doesn't have an IAC control, just a throttle body (Ford pn: 7T4Z9E926FA). Can I take this TB off the engine, disassemble and clean it, and reinstall it without too much hassle, or is it better to remove and replace it with a new one. Input from anyone who has dealt with this before would be most appreciated. Thank You in advance.

I've been going through the same issue with my '06. I cleaned the maf and throttle body with the correct cleaners which made a difference. I chose to remove my t/b, just 4 bolts and very easy to remove. I also got OBD II software for my laptop and found that bank 2 was slightly richer than bank 1 in my case. I was told it was likely a sticky injector, so I put some Lucas injector cleaner in the tank, double dose for the 1st tank, and it is now running nearly flawlessly. I plan to run a few tanks with it and see what happens. fwiw, Seafoam also comes highly recommended. Best of luck to you.

Thanks for the input. It sure looks easy enough to remove. What I'm wondering is if the TB unit is "user friendly" to being disassembled and cleaned, then reassembled..

I was able to clean mine pretty thoroughly with out disassembling it, using t/b cleaner and an old tooth brush.
