2005 F150 STX V6 leaking coolant
Lately I have noticed a small amount of coolant on the garage floor. I crawled under the truck for a look and there was a drop at the head gasket on the drivers side back. I also looked up top and it looked like where the intake manifold bolts onto the head near the back, it appeared slightly wet. Not sure weather it was coolant or oil. Is there anything under the plastic intake that could leak coolant?

You may have a heated PCV valve at the back left valve cover that has a coolant (3/8") hose leak. Start looking there. I have the same motor and after much research found there are coolant passage in the "intake manifold to head" connection that tend to leak. In some cases filling a cylinder and damaging the motor. I wound up pulling the manifold a installing new gaskets. It was a 3 day job and about $400. Good luck

Remember while you're driving the radiator/cooling system operates at 14 to 17 pounds. When you shut off the motor the coolant in the motor rises to about 20 to 22 pounds. That's the purpose of the recovery tank on the radiator. With the increase pressure you will see a minor leak not otherwise noted.
