Default 2003 F150 4 wheel drive not engaging properly

The truck has autolocking hubs and the 4x4 is controlled by the stick on the floor, not electronic. It has on the fly. When you shift in to 4x4 high or low the light will come on indicating that it has shifted but it doesn't engage until you go 50+ feet and then a really loud clunk comes from the transfer case as it shifts into 4x4. I just had the TC flushed and filled so the fluid should be good. Any suggestions? Am I looking at a rebuild/replace here?

Thanks in advance,
Jarred

did your 4x4 work before you had flush done? If so maybe you have a hub problem.

No, it started just before the flush, I was hoping it would help. I will be taking it in to a tranny shop next week. They think it is the actuator. Thanks for the help.
