I have a 2002 Ford F150 Supercab XLT. It has the 4.6 Triton V8 with an 8.8" rear end. I do not know what gears because my door sticker is gone and the only tag on the rear end is for the lube oil. I am trying to figure out if i should rebuild it or find another one but the only ones i find seem kind of expensive. I have never rebuilt a rear end but i am pretty good at figuring things out if i have some guidance. I mainly just need to change the ring and pinion. Can someone post a step by step process for this. Or is it to much to take on in the back yard? I have heard if you are just changing it with the same gears and you put it back the same way then you dont have to adjust anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
