Default 2002 F-150 will not start

Hello all.
I have an 2002 f-150 xlt with the 4.6l v8. I'm currently having an issue with the truck not starting. I turn the key to the start position and I do not hear the fuel pump cycle. I turn the key off and on (start position) a few time then i can hear the fuel pump. My truck runs with no other problems. I'm trying to figure out what is going on and what to check. I don't think it is the pump itself cause it continues to run. Any and all help would be great appreciated.

when you turn on the key and don't hear the fuel pump start, check with a code scanner to see if you cant communicate with the computer? ( if grounding out, the check engine lite will NOT be on) if you have a short somewhere and its grounding, it can cut the communication with PCM. I spent so much time replacing fuel pump, PCM, fuse panel, ext..

Check Fuse/Rely ( if there old, replace them)
NO PCM talkie, NO SPARK, NO FUEL

I just spent 2 weeks going over all the wiring in my truck, it was not fun, turned out the damn dealership left a wire harness out and it had melted to the exchaust manifold under the truck, passanger side.

so, the next time it doesn't turn over and has no fuel. check the spark, keep an extra plug handy and just touch it to the engine with one of the spark plug wires on it, if NO SPARK then its gotta be grounding out somewhere since it so intermitten

let me know what you come up with
