Default 2001 F-150 5.4 not starting right!

Starting last Monday, every once in a while when I turn my key in my 2001 F-150 5.4L, the engine will act like its starting then not keep a constant idle and die out. To remedy this, I have been revving it up for about a minute until it does stay idle, or starting it and immediately putting it into drive and praying that it doesn't die on me. Any ideas? I replaced the fuel filter thinking that might've been an issue, but now I'm thinking it might be the fuel pump.

Thanks!

Assuming no CEL. Most likely cause is a bad IAC valve.

IAC valve is most likely your problem. My son's 01 just started doing this, and a new IAC fixed it. Be careful, because if you drop a bolt or the gasket you'll probably never see them again. The electrical connector is a bit of a pain as well.
