1997 4x4 transmission problems
I've had this truck for around 4 months now and I've seen a problem that's gradually gotten worse. My transmission will go try and shift to soon when ever I'm going up hill and it will end up going in to 2nd and 3rd continuously until I either slow down enough until to where it doesn't want to shift or I get over the hill, I usually just slow down because I know all of the constant shifting has to be bad for it. The it will do the same thing in OD recently. I talked to some family of mine who owns a transmission shop and he told me to just run without OD on. That worked for a while, but now it will do the same thing on occasion. I've checked the fluid to make sure it's not low, but whenever I check the stick like I've done with every other truck I've been around the measurement markers on it are always past the "do not add" part of it. So I'm at a loss right now about what it could be.

Sounds like you need to flush your trans and torque converter and change the filter. It's possible the valve body is sticking. Before doing that you can add a can of SeaFoam tranny treatment and see if it resolves the problem. Use a 1/4 inch tube to suck out about 8 oz. of trans fluid through the dipstick tube before adding the SeaFoam.
