Default 1993 inline 6 - stalling

Howdy, This is my first Ford 150 and I need some help. I bought it for $1750 a month ago and started getting it's systems in order. ...new shocks, oil, coolant, belt/tensioner and more.
Over the last week it's started stalling. I read online that it could be the coolant sensor and I change it. Simple and easy and it ran smoother, but the problem is back. Perhaps unplugging the battery reset the computer and the improvement was luck.
I had a local shop run the codes and they were confused. Seemed to have competing codes. They thought it was the computer as the fuel pressure and ignition were checked and ok.
As I plan to keep the truck forever, I don't mind sorting on these little issues during my initial ownership.
Question - does this sound like a computer? Is that common?
As it has 190K on the clock what systems/sensor need replacement.
BTW - engine is fine. Previous owner changed oil, but that was about it.
