1989 Ford F150 idles then dies when cold
Hey guys when I do my first startup of the day or I let it sit for 4-5+ hours, then for some reason my truck will idle really high or really low and die on me. Not sure why, so far I've replaced my starter, starter solenoid, battery, alternator, and the belt. What are some options I have to try and fix this?
Also I think its 302 5.0 V8? 5.0 V8 for sure but 302 I'm not 100%

Also I don't think it's fuel related, I hear my truck prime all good. It feels like when I start it cold it will idle really high like I have the gas on it then slow down and die, like something is stuck..?

The 5.0 is the 302. Pull the codes first and see if they tell you anything before you start throwing money at it.

I'd bet a pretty penny they won't be able to test obd1. You can check it with a paperclip there's a sticky to walk you through it in the 1987-1996 section.

No problem I hope it helps you. Posting over there about your problems will probably get a better response also.
