Default 1976 Ford f 150 power issue

Hi, I just purchased a 1976 F 150 5.0 Eng. Well as you can imagine I may need some help in working on it. Thanks for letting me be part of your forum. My first issue seems to be motor runs good but losing power in the drive train. I had a howling noise when at top speeds, now when I try to go it's as if power is not getting to the ground, but engine does not stall.
Could this be only needing a fluid, filter fix? The fluid is pretty exhausted by looking at it. Changing fuel filter, but seems its getting plenty of fuel, like I said it doesn't stall, but surges.

Thanks, Paul

Good Day Folks,
Seems the fuel filter did the trick. She is running great. I'm still going to do a transmission fluid, and filter. Reset all codes, and got a good bill of health.

Thanks,
Paul
