Default 100000 mile Tune up

I have a 2008 F150 Lariat Supercrew 5.4 my 1st question is how do I tell if it's a 2 valve or 3 valve, I want to be sure I purchase the correct Coil Pac's. Question 2 what spark plugs do I want to go with, I'm told to stay with Motorcraft, my mechanic says whatever I do go with a platinum plug. Any and all input will be highly appreciated Thank you!!! Frank

Ford started making the 3v 5.4 in 2006 so your truck has the 3v. Stay with motorcraft plugs

Default two piece motorcrafts are still subject to coming apart

Been running champions for 100k , changed twice don't believe in running more than 60 k each time . I have 2005 it is 3 valve . After extracting original plugs with lisle tool I"m not going thru that again. Champions are true double platinum . Coat tips with nickel anti sieze anyway-- see ford tsb . Use silcon in spark boot with a q- tip just enough to keep boots from seizing on hot Porcelain . U tube has a good example of how to apply silicon. Use a torque wrench on spark plugs. Changed out boots at 120k.

Fyi, the f150's got the 3v 5.4 in 04, except for the heritage. They got the 3v 4.6 in 06.
I agree with sticking with Motorcraft plugs. Some people (not all) have issues with other brands. At $11 a peice, I'd rather not take that chance.

Actually, they started in 04 with the 3v in the f150.
