03 F150 front wheel/axle noise?
03 4x4 5.4 engine front driver side whining/clicking noise. Only happens when warm. Have a 10 mile drive to work, when I leave, no noise. When I return I can here what sounds like a winding noise. Jacked up driver side front wheel...when cold nothing, when warm after returning from work, the front axle/cv joint sounds like it's clicking/growling. Boots in good shape, no grease or leaks present. Wheel bearings are good and no other sign of damage. Noise sounds similar to 04 and up EWI/vacuum failure but the 03's don't have the same setup. Any ideas what this might be?
Truck has 134k miles on it and all bearings recently replaced. 4 wheel drive works fine.
Noise sounds like its coming from inner cv joint. Last oil change, it was recomended I change front axle lube. Could it be I simply need new fluid?
