here is the proof of concept. very primitive... no reflection, just str8 on with HUD display.

i have since realized i can project this on the windshield and from within the dash board pod...

its a very, very rough prototype, concept really, as the prototype is already moved out of this stage.




thought it would be fun to convert a supercharger set of gauges for something the average GAS motor could use.


Should be real pretty at night and visible to EVERYONE in the truck

prototype II, using the heads up display reflection...

so far, i have $60 invested.

removed the gauges
removed the mount that holds the gauges
removed the plastic lense and tilted it back.

next step, hide the wire and mount unit permanently and remove tape, lol....

ok, things are moving along. i have created a blue led ring on the outside edges and bottom of the reflector panel. top is all black on the reflector panel so the tach can still be seen when it gets up high. running out of vertical room on the display if i continue the led ring around the whole gauge. still playing with led placement.

sorry, that was prototype III that never left the driveway and i didn't get pics.

we are on to prototype IV and probably the final design, lol, we'll see...

i blacked out the mph, V and F lettering and i blacked out the dummy lights on the hud unit.

this just leaves the tach and speedo reflecting.

the tach and speedo lettering are no longer white and red.

they are NOW blue and red.

sorry, no pics, silicone is drying to more permanently hold reflector panel and hud unit.

prototype IV was a bust too, just can't get the blue leds to indirectly light the edges of the gauge and look good.

so prototype V and final product is here.

colors just need tweaked.

speedometer is blue

tachometer is blue until 3600 where it turns yellow until 5600 where is turns red.

the 4 on the tach i missed coloring and is still white. the 5 on the tach is accidentally covered in black tape.

once these color issues are finalized this is a permanent mod....
