Default Running board mod on 2016 lariat

2016 SCrew Lariat 5 1/2 bed. Stationary running boards. I want to install running board lights behind the running board on the body weld lip. Not wide enough to attach the lights. Thinking about attaching an inch wide sheet metal strip running the length of the body weld. Securing it with a couple of small clamps or 3m tape. Then affixing the lights to the metal strip. I welcome suggestions to a different option.
Thanks in advance.

I think this is a great idea! I never thought of t, however, I would use LED strip lighting. You can make it whatever length you'd like and many of the manufacturers make high stick adhesive for it. I think I might order some myself!

I use the strip lights on mine and ran four on each side, as stated they have very strong 3M tape. I have had them on my deployable running boards for about a year and are like new.

I also use a Prostrobe wireless command module to control them.

I did go with the flexible led lights from LEDGlow Lights. They have the 3m tape on the back and also have brackets. Easy install, I purchased the two way leds. Amber and white courtesy lights. I will post pics as soon as I figure out how to upload them to this post. Thanks everyone for the input. Lights really enhances a great looking truck. Looks like you did a lift also. Nice stance. That's my next move, really need to do more research to convince the brain that it's not going to affect the ride much

Thanks,

I'll be honest, I actually think it's a better ride. It could be the new tires, lift, socks or all three but absolutely love it.
