Can I ask a stupid question??? What is the purpose of having an iPad Mini mounted to your dash??? What am I missing that you can do with this aside from playing music/videos???

GPS is my biggest use. it's easier to use it for your music supply rather than plugging your phone in. Also I built one for a business owner that uses it to make invoices on the spot and print them via wifi to a printer. Many possibilities!

For ssmorga's question - I used this mainly for GPS (nothing beats google maps and waze) but also for google searches tied to maps (looking for my son's baseball field or whatever restaurant) its great for it all to be tied into the ipad interface.

Has anyone figured out a way to use the stock rearview camera with the ipad? I have the sync 2 MFT and looking to replace it or cover it.

No, but it would be nice to have the rear view image on the iPad rather than my rear view mirror.
