Default drivetrain swap

I have a 2004 f150 heritage and a 2006 f150, both 4.2 V6 and both 5 speed manual transmissions, but 06 is only 2 wheel drive and 04 is 4 wheel drive but blown motor. How hard would it be to swap the drive train from my 04 to my 06 without doing a motor swap

keep in mind you're talking about two COMPLETELY different body styles. none of the parts are a direct interchange. not saying it cant be done, hell, i'm in the middle of a 351w into an 03, but everything is fabricated.

That is true, which is why i wanted to do a little research and ask around before i even waste my time with tearing out both front and rear axles of my 04 being both trucks have 2 completely different gear ratios in the rear, one being the stock 3.55 (.56?) and the other having 3.77. But where would i start with something like this?

better off starting from a junkyard to get the correct axles for the correct body style in the ratio you want. about $750 for a 3.73 rear in your 06
