Custom gun compartments anyone?

I know this is kind of off topic, but I recently viewed a thread about the rear seats in supercrews folding down. There is no latch and it kind of takes some patience to get it folded down, but there is enough space behind the rear seats for rifles, etc. I am in the planning stage for making a gun rack just to transport my long guns. To me, its generally a safe place to store firearms because most people don't know the rear seats fold down. The weapons remain hidden behind the seat back as well. On the flip side to this, I do not believe any firearm should be stored in a vehicle when the owner is actively using the vehicle. Too many guns are stolen from vehicles.

I would not leave a gun in a glove box, center console, under the seat, etc when parked but feel pretty confident in leaving in an AR behind the rear seat of the supercrew unless I lived in an area well known for constant break ins.
It would be a miracle if a thief knew about the folding rear seat.

I live and work in Memphis, TN... Its an urban war zone here and a mistake to walk out your front door without a weapon. I carry a Glock 19, a Glock 30S, a S&W bodyguard .380, a fixed blade Boker and 2 folding cold steel knives everyday. I'm 24 years old, was jumped when I was 18 and beat within inches of my life and have stopped 2 armed robberies/muggings since being 21 and able to carry. I've had a total of 3 firearms pointed at my person in traffic in 2016 but decided to let the police take care of those.
I don't carry for interpersonal BS like road rage or because my girlfriend screwed a guy I know, I primarily carry to stop an active shooter situation or to protect the sheeple that cannot defend themselves against the absurdly evil lurking in these city streets.

In a friendly state your chl/ccw/lcp is a bonafide good guy card.
Can't count the number of times (back when I was in a marked car) that I put somebody on the curb with one of these........ my goto response was " no prob, don't go for yours and I won't go for mine".
You carry one for the same reason you have a spare tire.... just in case.
As far as probable cause goes, if the copper asks you to vacate the vehicle, they are already cleared to search the area you might access before you get back in the car ( think your reach).
Secret compartments "might" cause an issue in border areas, but a simple explanation goes a long way.
My heater is always on me ( policy requirement, but that's how I prefer it). And I would advocate that you should always have the tools available to you to look after you. I would love to be there, but you are on your own until we get there.
I've gotta carry more stuff on a daily basis (SRT assignment) and the screw can carry an SBR. Plate carrier and misc other stuff without issue ( and out of sight )
Still working on some higher speed solutions for this than 550 cord, but you can do it without too much issue.
Stay prepared and stay safe wherever you are and don't confuse getting lucky with good tactics......unless you are at the bar
