Default 6.2 in a 2000, 7700 frame?

Time for a new engine in the 2000, 7700. Had a crazy thought of dropping a 6.2 in it's place. Will it fit? Will the 4R100 transmission handle the torque? Does anyone make an adapter plate to mate a 6.2 to a 4R100? Not to worried about the Sterling 10.25 rearend handling the torque. Just a crazy thought...

Seems you would have to change the computer also, why not add newer transmission? . Even heard of throwing good money after bad?

Couldn't really search for anything specific because I'm not familiar with that engine/tranny, but Advance Adapters makes a number of adapters that I know guys in the Jeep community use to do various engine/tranny/t-case swaps.

Loki, good point. Might as well look for a damaged truck that has a good engine and tranny. That way ecu/pcm/bcm will be from the damaged unit. It is an option
