Move the top of the door in 1mm by adjusting the top hinge mount. Here is a couple of pics from the service manual. Not a big job.
THANK YOU! top adjustment took care of my door rattle bringing a tighter seal against the top rear door area. 1mm adjustment was all it needed. Took 2 minutes.

I used a sharpie to mark the original hinge position for reference - I worried i'd lose track of any changes i made.

quick question: once you loosen the bolt, do you push or pull the hinge to make the adjustment?

Any chance you could show some clear pictures of what you actually did? I appreciate the instructions given in this thread but they are to vague for my level of experience. The description of your problem is exactly what I have..Thanks Lou. ps I don't understand how the door pivots up at the rear without loosening the top and bottom hinge mounting points.

Once the bolt is loose it's the door which will move forward/backwards. Pull the door back 1 or 2mm only. Retighten to set the door in its new position relative to the hinge. I marked the original door to hinge so I had a reference to go back to if needed. Move the door too much and the door will look too recessed above the wing mirror at the front.. Very small adjustments only.

Not the seal on the windshield. Dealer just bought my 2015 Lariat back. Issue is the seal between the door weather stripping & body. They adjusted it 3 times but no go & actually got worse. They bought back for several reasons. I now have a 2016 Platinum with the same issue. I test drove the truck with no issues, but the more I drive it, it's back. The weather stripping is not holding a seal on certain bumps. FORD needs to address this issue!

Not ALL trucks, but a decent amount are having these issues. I'm just tired of going back to the dealer at this point.

If you're getting this noise intermittently at reasonable speed, that's what it is....Ford knows about it and has a fix. The regional cs manager told me just to call my dealer and they'll tale care of it. I haven't yet, but there is a whole thread on this a few months back.

To me that only adjusts the twist of the door in the frame. If my door is sticking out further at the bottom than the top when closed how do you pull the bottom in tighter without moving the striker?
