I get that, just that I don't want to carry a stool just to close my hood. Kinda embarrassing.
You might consider some advice that I gave to my 5'4" wife.
I told her she should sue the government for building the ground so close to her a**.
That went over well.

I'm 6' 1'', but to detail the roof of my 150s, I must use a ladder...it doesn't embarrass me to do so. I can't imagine you find the necessity to access your engine compartment any more often than I wash my vehicles. At the other end of the spectrum, it doesn't embarrass me to use a creeper to access my sump for DIY oil changes. You're turning a trivial matter into an issue.
Perhaps you should confront Ford and demand a feature that permits you to wiggle your foot under the front bumper (as with the rear hatch access of some models) that opens-closes the hood.

Your 'demand' can be phrased any way that you deem fruitful. I suspect they will give careful consideration of your idea...it has merit, at a price of course.

How often do you open the hood anyway? And how often do you open it away from home (where you probably have something you can stand on)?
Embarrassed? I'm 5'11 and I'm already on my toes to reach that stupidly placed dipstick and avoid rubbing on my paint. I use a ladder so that I can wash the roof. It's no big deal if you need a boost. Everyone will be admiring your new ride, not worried about what you're standing on.

My brother in law is a shorty. He keeps the long end of a ratchet strap (the non ratchet piece) in the drivers door panel. Hooks it to the bottom of the hood before raising it all the way and uses it to pull it down to where he can reach it when he's done. He can barely reach the air filter box so he doesn't open it up that much except for routine service. Not sure why you'd check the hood latch that frequently? It has the secondary catch if needed..
