I too, have read hundreds of posts on the woes of the 2015 - but the 2016 has few issues (on the forum) - glove box door and seat back cooling come to mind. I pulled the trigger on a 2016 this week and I'm loving this truck, after having only Toyotas since 1984. Glove box lid works and seat backs cool nicely. The Dodge is probably a bit softer riding, but this truck rides nicer than anything I have ever driven. Period. Hope this helps.

I've been sneaking thru the Ram dealership by my work lately and gotta say some of the new Rams look pretty nice...especially the Rebel IMO. Then I come to this forum (which is like crack) and constantly read about 2015+ issues. I get thats why many come on here...to find solutions but just seems overwhelming lately. I have two close friends who converted to Ram in 2016...one from a GMC and the other a Ford. They are in love with their Rams. I have personally never driven one but to me the interiors look pretty freaking nice. Sensitive topic I know but curious on thoughts for those who have driven new Rams and own a 2015+ F150?
I had a 2011 Ram 1500 Sport. The interior and the engine were awesome in that truck, but other than that, it had major rusting issues. The finish was really poor. I had to take Chrysler to arbitration over fixing some issues when the spot welds on the box were rusting through at 20,000km. The dealership refused to fix it properly. In the end, the rust was the reason I got rid of it. I know of other Rams that had the same issue as mine. That being said, it ran beautifully, and had TONS of power.
I bought a 2016 F150 Lariat, and I love it. I don't miss the Hemi at all. The Ford is nicer to drive and the finish is nicer too in my opinion. I'm sure you will find stories of people who had issues with Ford and vice versa, but so far my experience with my truck and Ford service has been great. I hope it continues!

I sold my '14 Ram 3500. It was a great truck, especially with the Cummins motor. Loved the truck, no major issues. Paid $55k plus fees, and received $3,500 in rebates. After 2 years, and 20k miles I sold it private party for $49.5K. I just did not have the need to tow heavy, and that was the only reason I sold it.

I had a '16 Ram 1500 Eco diesel on order, and 2 days prior to it's arrival I saw a story on national news regarding crash test performed by the IIHS. After I watched the attached video I immediately cancelled my order, went to my local Ford dealer and drove the F150. I fell in love immediately and ordered a new F150 and I am so happy I did. Not just for the piece of mind from the obviously better made construction, but the technology, and excellent driving and performing truck. I have nearly 2k miles, and will never look back. The only draw back, is the fuel economy. While I'm in line with the EPA estimates, the Ram Eco diesel gets about 10 mpg better (on the highway).

As others have previously said, every brand has issues, and it's usually those poor folks that do post them. Every brand makes lots and lots of trucks, there will always be a few with issues.

Anyways, IMHO you won't regret the F150. Again, check out the video and see if you feel you made the right choice

I did when it was time to replace my 2010 F-150 and ended up with a Ram 2500 Power Wagon. Love the thing. That being said, I have my eyes out for a 2018-9 F150 providing the 10 speed pans out etc...

I love this forum and the info. As OP I certainly am not going against Ford. Own one and have one on order. I hate to say I am/was tempted with the prices on Ram. Supercrew Hemi 8 speed, 3.92 gears, Alpine system with sub and 8.4" touch, nav, real headlights!, 20's with 275/60/20, spray in liner, leather heated seats, folding mirrors, remote start, keyless start, etc ,etc...price advertised 41,571.

But, alot to be said for the F150 crash test too. Some of the priceless stuff. I was just curious what others thought as I've never driven in one. If a guy could just afford one of each brand...

Make sure you don't need payload if you are going with the Ram.... their payload is very low for a 1500!

Had a 2011 Ram went back to ford with a 2015. The 5.7 was great, good motor, got solid resale value from it no complaints there, my issue was the transmission. Dodge never had a good track record with them. At 5K had to have the torque converter replaced. At 50K t a couple of the clutch packs were slipping. Traded it on a 2015 ecoboost, no real issues, love the truck.

With the new 8 speed Rams I do not think they are building their own transmissions, so maybe they are better. Mine really didn't seem to hold up to towing and I was just pulling a 3500 travel trailer.

I wish I looked harder at Tonka. I mean, c'mon, this is the ultimate pickup truck...
