Default Why Under Coat/Rust Proof

All my past trucks I have done Ziebart under coating and rust proofing at the time of purchase. The local dealer has it done before delivery.

Now the undercoating I'm sold on especially here in the north east. However rust proofing is not worth it.

Dealer trying to sell it. With the new body it's a waste of money and will not benefit.

Would you rustproof your aluminum boat, or airstream trailer?

No but the steel frame may benefit.

I don't believe the bottom of the cab and bed are aluminum so if you are sold on it then it is your money.

I bought some product (oil). I use corrosion free and I am going to oil under the truck myself a couple times a year. Decided to leave the body panels and focus on what will rust

I believe the only steel panel used is the firewall. Yes, the frame is steel.

The entire body and bed (including the "...bottom of the cab and bed...") of the truck is aluminum excepting the laminated Quiet Steel sound-absorbing firewall, the cross-door side impact beams, and a few small mounting components. The frame is a mix of various steel alloys and thicknesses. A body cross member (forward of the engine) is magnesium.

12/20/14 edit: last sentence corrected to delete reference to 'frame' cross member and correct 'aluminum' to magnesium.
