Not much difference from a well optioned Lariat, as said, the leather, the massaging seats, wheels, badging and higher quality ( meaning real ) wood trim. Very nice trucks, just not sure they're worth the extra money over a Lariat.

If you option the Lariat up to the Platinum level, you're either paying the same or more in options. Also, resale on the Platinum will be better than an optioned Lariat, just because of the "level" vs. "options".

I just double checked, I'm wrong, previously up till 2014 model year, Platinum got a different windshield with more layers for sound deadning, looks like everything from the XL to Limited has same windshields now.

For 2015+, I'm pretty sure the steering wheel is the same for Lariat and Platinum, with only the Limited being the nicer option. For 2009-2014, the difference was the wood on the steering wheel and that's not the case anymore. Same goes for the windshield. The Soundscreen windshield on the Lariat is the same as on the Platinum whereas earlier models it was a Platinum only option.

On a separate note, a fully optioned Lariat can cost you almost as much as a Platinum and have almost the same amount of options. Mine is one of them. Just about the only thing it doesn't have is the different and massaging seats.

FX4 with 502A
Technology Package
Power running boards
Adaptive cruise control
Active park assist
Etc.
Etc.

MSRP = $60,601
