Default Weathertech rear mat fix/mod

Hey all, so for everyone with the Weathertech mat for the rear seats I thought I'd share a quick and easy hack I did to keep the edges by the doors from folding up and just looking lousy. I simply pulled up the molding around the floor and cut out a section of the mat so I can then install the molding back over the mat.

Looks much cleaner and doesn't get caught up when you shut the rear doors.

I thought the point in the lip on those mats was to keep water or anything else on the mat??....Looks good tho

True but the door jams are a low point in the mat anyways, so big spills will drain to the area and it didn't look to me that it would hold much liquid as they were so I figured I'd tuck it under for a cleaner look.

I never had that problem with the Husky mats I had in my Expedition but that was 10 years ago. I have the off road mats that came with my truck right now I've been debating whether or not to replace those.

Lol, the rear mat is the only one that I feel like actually fits/lays perfect! My passenger side mat looks... meh. I think it's just how they ship them. All three crammed in a cardboard box for shipping might be the problem. I did lay mine out on the hot pavement for a good while before putting them in the truck though. Maybe that's why my rear one sits so well.

Careful use of a heat gun also helps WeatherTech and/or Husky mats conform to your interior better.

I love my husky mats, the xact contour ones. I had weathertech digital fit mats in my 2015 mustang and my feet slipped around on them a lot and after just 2500 miles of use they were starting to curl on the corners. They look badass, but with the curling up, wasn't a big fan.
